You waited in the transporter room for the captain, the doctor, and the first officer to return from their mission to look for a professor that hasn’t contacted anyone. The person working at the transporter did whatever they were supposed to do and the trio appeared wearing old Earth style uniforms.

“How’d it go?” You asked as they stepped off the platform.

“It’s a long story (Y/N),” Kirk sighed as he took his hat off. Bones gave you a reassuring smile before he and Kirk left. Spock stayed in the transporter room with you.

“How about you? You wanna tell me how it went?”

“It went accordingly,” Spock simply stated making you frown.

“Nothing bad happened? Nobody got caught? Meet any pretty ladies?” You slyly smiled at the Vulcan.

“I will tell you everything in my quarters when we are both off duty.”

“Ok, Spock, I’ll see you later then.”

You sat on Spock’s bed, reading one of his books. He still had a few more minutes until he was off duty so might as well wait in his quarters, right? You heard his door swish open as you turned to the last page of the book. You felt the space next to you sink down and you closed the book.

“I was worried about you, Spock. I mean with a planet like Nazi Germany and with you, Kirk, and Bones being the minority race there.”

“It was nothing to be worried about,” Spock told you with slight reassurance in his voice. “I will never understand you humans and your overthinking.”

“Oh come on,” you laughed, “I’m always overthinking about you, especially on away missions. You could get hurt or die and then I’ll be all alone.”

“This ship has 430 crew members on board, I do not believe that you’ll be alone.”

“It’s a figure of speech,” you smiled. “Why don’t we get changed and get ready for bed?”

Spock was the first one to stand up and you got up quickly after him. You went to the drawers and pulled out some pajamas. Spock was already getting changed since he was in the black tee-shirt. He tugged at the hem of the shirt and pulled it up and you saw the marks on his back.

“What happened?” You asked while walking up behind him.

“Jim and I got caught and they used a form of torture on us.”

“They whipped you?”

“That would be the correct term,” he said softly.

Your fingers gently traced over the green wounds. They looked like they hurt, but you know Spock wouldn’t admit it. After all, pain was an emotional response.

“Are you ok?” You whispered. “Do they hurt?”

“I’m fine, (Y/N). Pain is all in the mind.”

“Spock,” you whined, “I know about Vulcan customs and all that but at least be honest with me this one time about how you feel. I wish you would’ve told me sooner.”

Spock didn’t say anything as you continued to softly trail your fingers along his shoulder blades. “I’ll go get some bandages.”

“That’s not necessary,” Spock finally spoke.

“Spock, these are still technically fresh wounds. When you lay down on the bed it’s gonna hurt, now let me patch you up or I’ll get Bones in here.”

He let out a soft sigh as he knew that there was no point in arguing with you because you’d just argue back. You walked back to the drawer and pulled out your emergency stash of bandages and walked back over to Spock.

“I still wished you would’ve told me that they hurt you.”

“Then you would have worried about me for the rest of your shift. I am nothing to be concerned about.”

You let out a sigh through your nose as you gently placed the bandages over the cuts. You were mad at him for not telling you, but he did have a very good point. If he told you then you would’ve worried through your entire shift. You gently grabbed his shoulders and turned him around and saw more marks on his shoulders and collarbone. You furrowed your eyebrows and went to finish what you started.

“There is still no reason to worry, I am perfectly fine,” Spock said softly while he gently put his hand on your shoulder. “But I find it mildly reassuring that you are willing to do this for me.”

Your slight frown turned back into a soft smile as you finished putting the last bandage on him. “I mean I want you to be ok, it would be rude of me not to want that.”

You could see a ghost of a smile play on his lips as he looked at you.

“Oh my god I accidentally Vulcan kissed your back,” you exclaimed as you began to blush. “I’m sorry Spock, I didn’t mean to do it.”

This time he smiled softly. If you didn’t know him better, then you wouldn’t be able to tell that the smile was there, but it was. He gently touched your cheek, returning the loving gesture you unknowingly gave him. “You were being emotional, not logical, but it was illogical for you to apologize since I know you have emotions towards me.”

You smiled as his fingers lightly trailed over your face, but you put your hand over his and leaned into his touch. “C'mon, let’s go to bed.”
